One Ancient Book One Brilliant Atheist

First off, I believe in God. I talk to Him and pray all the time. I do not need a church and steeple to deepen my faith with the creator of the universe. More sin has taken place within the walls of the church than any congregation members household. People do not need a building and a book to connect with God. Go for a walk in a park, forest, or on a beautiful trail. Pack a lunch, find a peaceful spot, and take in the beauty of the earth. In those peaceful moments our hearts open up to connect. If land is not available, sanctuary can be found in our own backyards with the birds and butterflies, or build a peaceful room inside. There are many ways to connect with the Lord without all the politics.

Humans have turned the Bible into a book that has caused so much death and pain. I actually do not believe the Bible we have today is the original version God intended. You can clearly see in passages like Deuteronomy 28 where there’s promise after promise of leading nations, being set up high, admission into a special group and earn great wealth if we all follow the rules. God doesn’t care about money or material things. God wants us to love one another and take care of the earth. Human kind has strayed far away from both.

At what point do we stop living by a book of politically influenced rules and start being guided by love, fairness and kindness? How many more wars have to happen and people have to die before humans are willing to change? When will the hypocritical judgement, singling out, casting away and using one sentence from a 2000-year-old book to condemn others stop? None of this behavior is God like at all.

“Religion is based primarily and mainly upon fear. It is partly the terror of the unknown and partly the wish to feel that you have a kind of elder brother who will stand by you in all your troubles and disputes. Fear is the basis of the whole thing – fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. Fear is the parent of cruelty, and therefore it is no wonder if cruelty and religion have gone hand in hand. It is because fear is at the basis of those two things.” Bertrand Russell

Russell lived life as an Atheist. He was a mighty angel and dirty little devil all wrapped up in one. He fought for many good concepts and spent time in prison for his outspoken views on antiwar. However, he had some very strange beliefs, yet so do we all. All humans have their angelic and demon behavior that plague us individually, so to disregard Russell’s quote because he’s an atheist would be ignorant.

I agree with Russell but I feel he’s missing a big point. I feel that if we are truly good inside and out that our suffering here on earth will be less. Pull religion out, keep the spirit, do good deeds and there’s not much room for political fear. I have had a few moments where I look back and say thank you God, that was epic! In turn I have had other situations where I’m crying out where are You! Most of the time when I’m crying out, I actually made some dumb decisions that got me in the situation. I don’t need to be fearful of God punishing me. I just need to make better choices. If we live a life to serve others and be helpful in every way we can, reward for that kindness funnels back. A reward not only from God, but our neighbors, family and friends as well. The crown of respect from a community of people wanting to help you back because you are a good person, is more valuable than money or power.

Even though Russell spoke out against the church, Bertrand’s favorite motto came straight out of the Bible. “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil” (Exodus 23:2). The entire passage reads like this.

“Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness. Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.”

“If you come across your enemy’s ox or donkey wandering off, be sure to take it back to him. If you see the donkey of someone who hates you fallen down under its loads, do not leave it there, be sure you help him with it. Do not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits. Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty.”

“Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the righteous. Do not oppress an alien, you yourselves know how it feels to be aliens, because you were aliens in Egypt.”

What I find interesting is that a majority of our world’s leaders are in direct opposition of these written guidelines. They pander to the congregation masses twisting the Bible and finding specific passages that work in their favor. Being a philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, writer, social critic, political activist, Nobel Laureate, and a person of great wealth. Russell chose Exodus as his motto to live by when he could have chosen a very easy privileged life with no regard to anything.

Growing up with the 1%, I’m sure Bertrand watched many harmful decisions be made by politicians. He was included in many discussions dealing with war, power and the church. Bertrand was an antiwar activist until it came to Hitler and nuclear activist till the day he died. We all know how much the church in the past influenced the decision making of world leaders and many of those decisions were not nice. Did Russell watch gross decisions being made against humanity by religious leaders and politicians that caused him to give up on God?

We need to reexamine certain aspects of the Bible that are being followed. I’d love to compare ancient guidelines against what we currently read. As a society and for the future of mankind there needs to be change now. The amount of greed, cruelty, pain and suffering in the world just should not exist with how much our technology has evolved. Our lingering primitive thinking on some subjects such as racism, and our reliance upon an altered book is holding us back. Humanity could move along at lightning speed if we just stopped thousand-year-old cruel beliefs that are time consuming.

We can’t continue to pray for a savior to save humanity. For Jesus to float down on a cloud and straighten our problems out. God led us to the water, gave us amazing directions. Leaders altered those directions and screwed things up royally. Citizens through greed, addiction, over indulgence and ignorance amplified our problems and made them easy to exploit by leaders. Humanity needs to gather together and save themselves to complete what God laid out. The answers are all there if people are willing to look.

They say after every pandemic that humanity grows. The Maya said 2012 would bring great change for mankind, not the end of the world. That 2012 would bring a new reality. When you look at how much technology has taken over the past eight years, I’d say the Maya were spot on. Humanity has lost touch. We need to pop our heads up from our phones and take a look around at what’s happening. I really hope change comes soon. A majority of the world is looking for positive light, a positive change. We need to be our own guiding light now!

A Positive Side to Selfishness

I recently watched an interview by Regina Meredith with Jim Self. The episode titled “Emergence of the New Human Part II” has two thought provoking statements. First, Jim states that our educational system will start falling apart within a decade, this interview was back in 2015. Here we are six years after Jim’s projection and I’m blown away at how Corona has crippled the public-school system. I live in a medium to high end district; they are short 8 million dollars in funds to comply with Covid guidelines. I can’t imagine what impoverished districts are facing ☹ Parents at our school received notice this week indicating a strong possibility that the kids will not return in the fall, all classes will be online. Is this the beginning of restructuring public schools to meet a new ideology???

The second thought Jim proposed on selfishness really got me thinking. Regina hit the nail on the head stating that humans have turned selfishness into a walk of shame, when there’s actuality a flip side. If a person is regarded as selfish, this label really gives someone a bad rep. Sometimes the bad reputation is well deserved. Other times a person is going through a great struggle that outsiders are unaware of. The individual appears selfish when they actually are not. We need to reexamine what it truly means to be selfish; because a person who is practicing selfcare while skipping volunteering is not selfish.

I have friends who give nearly all their time, money and well-being to help others. These super moms amaze me and I love them for their heart. However, all of these moms have one thing in common. They are tired and worn out! During quarantine, the top two givers I know both said that for the first time in years they felt rested after weeks of being forced to stop running. Both women felt the need to reexamine the pace at which they are tackling life. I think this aha moment is fantastic and not selfish.

youcanbeselfishandhappy

Jim stated that as individuals we need to be selfish in a more elevated way to improve humanity. Moms can not care for their spouses and children properly if they are worn out from PTA meetings, church groups, community outreach programs and driving all over the county to soccer games. Dads have no energy left for the family or personal fun time if they are working fifty hours a week.

Jim used a visual example to explain his thoughts, but for writing purposes I’ll use numbers. Using zero as a baseline for counting, I bullet pointed one of my friends daily schedule.

  • Mom gets a good night’s sleep, +1.
  • Alarm chimes at 5am. Mom checks the news, emails, a little Facebook and it’s time to prepare a healthy breakfast, +1.
  • Her son is having a rough morning. He’s whiney and moving at a turtles pace. She spends most of the morning arguing and now they are out the door late, -1.
  • Oops, she ate a good breakfast but forgot to pack lunch so an energy bar it is, -1.
  • As she drops Timmy at school, he reminds her about a two-week project that’s due tomorrow morning, mega stress -1.
  • Mom arrives late to the morning meeting at work. The boss is not happy, stress -1.
  • Lunch time arrives, there’s no time to order in food because her day started behind schedule. She eats the energy bar and pumps up with coffee. Coffee on an empty tummy is not good for the body, -1.
  • Moms exhausted and its only noon, -1.
  • High on coffee, the rest of the work day goes great 😊, +2.
  • Go to school to pick up Timmy. He’s fallen off the monkey bars. The arm doesn’t look broken so she puts off calling the doc because they have a full schedule today. Playing doc hoping your diagnosis is right, -1.
  • Get to church and find out a few volunteers have canceled for the weekend’s children’s ministry. Mom promised Dad that this would finally be a family weekend but she can’t say no. Fight with husband over time, -2.
  • She chatted too long at church and miscommunicated with the hubby. Arrives at home and there’s no healthy dinner. She and Timmy hit the drive through because he still has soccer practice, stress and bad nutrition, -2
  • Practice ends and now its time for homework. Little Timmy doesn’t understand, so instead of spending time with her husband she spends the rest of the night working on school work, -1.
  • Mom is half asleep when she wakes up in a jolt yelling for Timmy to get up, they forgot the project is due. Up till 1AM, project complete, lots of arguing because it’s so late, -3.

The total is -11. I didn’t even cover most Dads schedules that I know. A majority of humans live our lives in a stress deficit. We do not schedule enough time for our own happiness and maintaining our most important vessel, our bodies. Why is selfcare deemed selfish when in all reality being rested makes us produce more? How can we be of service to others if we are walking zombies signing up for every charity and school event that’s posted? Humans have to stop caving into organized group pressure to volunteer or over work ourselves in the office. We need to start selfishly volunteering more special time for ourselves, spouses and children to ensure our own longevity. That PTA mom your crushing school carnival numbers with will not be the one holding your hand at the end of your life, your family will. Give family and yourself precious time first. I wonder how many auto immune conditions and diseases would not happen if parents chose to selfishly spend time to reboot their own souls before going out and trying to help save another???

Cool Motorcycle Golf Carts!

Eagle Creek Golf Club located in Norwalk, Ohio, just became one of the coolest courses in the country. They added motorcycle golf carts to their fleet! These carts look pretty bad ass and fun to ride. Top speed is 15 mph and sorry moto guys, the back wheel is designed so knuckleheads can’t pop wheelies. My husband would 100% try this 😊

eaglecreekgolfcoursebikecarts

The golf bag sets between the handlebars so players straddle the bag as they ride. Designer Rick Reimers named the cycles after his beloved pup Finn. There’s a cute puppy logo near the name.

Finn Scooters are very popular, so you will have to make a reservation to ride. Eagle Creek is a public, 18-hole, par 71 course. Now if they make one that resembles my hubby’s old racing bike which was a 1995 RM 125. We will hop on a plane immediately to come play!

Online Returns Creating A Global Waste Disaster

Prior to Covid, I had a really fun job of buying pallets from retailers and selling the products on Ebay. This job is far from glamorous. There’s a lot of grunt work with sorting through broken and soiled products to find the gems. However, receiving in pallets of shoes and home goods to sell felt like fun Christmas present opening with each box.

During lockdown I watched the Ted Talk “Where Do Your Online Returns Go.” The presentation left me heartbroken. Hearing that 4 billion pounds of returned clothing fills our garbage dumps every year made my stomach turn. To know that I was actually helping the environment by buying returned or shelf pull products from retailers to resell made me feel awesome. That helpful feeling quickly faded as Covid brought my business to a screeching halt. With Sears, Macys, JCP, Nieman Marcus and Pier 1 all going bankrupt. I can’t match the deep discounts retailers are listing products for. Their store closing blowouts and clearance sales tags are better than the wholesale price I paid. I get it, retailers need to survive. JCP doesn’t even have the bankroll for rent. Sadly, as many of us who ran this type of business close doors, I see the waste getting worse again ☹

Aparna Mehta the Global Logistics & Consumer Solutions Director at UPS hosts this Ted Talk. Aparna has worked at UPS for 26 years. I find her story pretty cool as she started at the bottom in Tech Support, moved to Industrial Engineering and is now a female titan. Great job Aparna!

We all need to focus on our spending habits as we’ve created a massive waste issue. The greatness of Amazon in my opinion turned into a double-edged sword. I love getting my products fast and that I can check reviews to make a sound decision when buying expensive things. However, the company has fathered a generation of impatient click happy buyers who want products sitting on their door step the next morning. There’s no thought to buying anymore. Just one click and the Amazon warehouse is picking your order within a few hours.

Retailers had to scramble to catch up with Amazon’s amazing customer service and drive to increase sales, adding to the waste spiral. The free shipping free returns model has left 7.5 million pieces of clothing returned each year. What most people do not understand is the trail that follows once they return a product. After receiving the products back in, the retailer now has to try to resell this item out on the sales floor. This only works if products have remained in great condition while in consumer hands. If the item is not sales floor worthy, there’s options for retailers such as wrapping up goods on a pallet for wholesale buyers like me, send products to their outlet store, or shockingly that new tried on once shirt lands in the garbage.

Another issue is frankly plain lack of morals by a small group of consumers. Some people can’t just return an item. They will wear the dress or use the dishes for a fancy party they can’t afford, stain or chip items, and then say the products were defective to get a full refund within 30 days. This behavior is beyond ridiculous and adds to the waste. Thank goodness Amazon and retailers are now cracking down hard on return abusers.

Aparna has an interesting solution. Her concept reminds me of Ebay. By the way I love EBay from the top VP’s down to all the amazing mom and pop sellers listing items online. Her idea would be an app where consumers can list items they want to return for sale. Aparna would like to name the app “Green Turn” since the items are all customer returns. Pretty catchy name! Consumer’s carrot to use the app would be to receive loyalty points or cash back like the Kohls model to spend on different products.

Time will tell if her idea comes to fruition. I think the strategy is a great start. Our consumer waste needs to slow down dramatically. A bonus for all the husbands of the world will be cash back in the bank after all we moms go shopping and do not like a blouse ha ha. I think of all the poor families around the world who could use just a part of the 7.5 million pieces of new clothing sitting in landfills. If Aparna’s app does not happen, I hope down the road retailers and consumers will start donating all customer returns that would just be tossed. We all need to be more mindful before we rapid fire our buy now buttons and mindful of Mother Earth as we just throw products away. Research and think!

SpaceX to Launch Humans Wednesday!

For the first time in nine years. Elon Musk will launch two astronauts into space off of US soil, woo hoo! The Demo-2 Mission will launch space dudes Robert L Behnken and Douglas Hurley into orbit on Wednesday at 4:30PM EDT. Robert was a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He is a veteran of two Space Shuttle flights, having spent more than 29 days in space. Douglas was a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is also a space veteran. Doug piloted the Space Shuttle twice, including the program’s final mission. Sounds like these two will handle Elon’s money quite well. I can not imagine the stress of starting your own space company and dealing with billions of dollars in equipment daily.

After the Space Shuttle program ended in 2011, astronauts have had to launch with the Russians. Wednesday’s event leaves another mark on history for Musk. This mission is the first time that a private venture will take humans into Earth’s orbit. Only the U.S., Russia and China have completed this great feat. SpaceX has made the opportunity for more regular guy, aka, billionaire space missions possible.

NASA teamed up with SpaceX for the flight. SpaceX provided the rocket while NASA provided the astronauts. NASA is looking to further their Artemis program. This program’s goal is to return humans to the Moon in the next few years and finish with Mars. The rocket used tomorrow will be the Falcon 9. The astronauts will ride in the Crew Dragon capsule atop the rocket. The Falcon 9 rocket has the unique capability to return to earth and be reused again. This mission is set for 110 days.

Keep breaking records Elon and hit your life goal for Mars! Many of us are enjoying watching your fails and triumphs turn into one incredible story! Which by the way if you have not read the biography of Musk by Ashlee Vance, great book.

The Zone of Silence

People around the world are stuffed full of Bermuda Triangle legends. Frankly, until there’s new data or video evidence, I scroll past Triangle articles. While watching an episode of Ancient Aliens. The theorists discuss The Zone of Silence or The Mapimi Silent Zone located in Mexico. The area has experienced similar communication issues as Bermuda. This newly discussed vortex is located 400 miles south of El Paso. Oddly, the zone aligns on the same parallel as the Bermuda Triangle and the Great Pyramids.

Modern stories began in the 1930s when the pilot Francisco Sarabia encountered radio anomalies and had to make an emergency landing. Later in 1964 engineer Harry De La Pena was surveying the desert to run an oil pipeline. He too suffered radio communications issues. After performing many tests, Harry is the individual who coined the name “The Zone of Silence.”

zoneofsilence

De La Pena frequented the area. He was fascinated with the dead zones. The part of Harrys story that stuck out to me is how he noted that the dead zones were not fixed. Zones moved from place to place. Is there possibly a shifting magnetic field under the ground in this area? Recently in South America there was a major underground magnetic disturbance so we know movement is possible.

There are many reports from locals claiming to have seen UFOs in the skies above the zone. Ranchers tell stories of strange friendly encounters with odd looking humans. UFO enthusiasts report numerous sightings around the world tying UFOs with magnetic field disturbances. Ancient Alien Theorists claim this area is a possible worm hole or energy vortex from somewhere in the universe. The worm hole theory is possible according to Einstein but what if the mystery is simple. What if there’s no hole or vortex? Could humans on the earth and life forms above the earth need the great power that lies beneath the surface?

uraniumrock

Uranium rock

During the Cold War, the White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico had been conducting a series of tests using Athena RTV (reentry test vehicle) rockets. Mysteriously one of the rockets over shot the intended target and went straight to the Zone of Silence. When United States retrieval teams entered the area, they too found communication disturbances. After several weeks working the area, all debris was removed and I find no evidence that our government has been back. Did this magnetic field pull the rocket off course?

With many experts having gone into the area to conduct testing. Results showed the ground contains high concentrations of magnetite and uranium. Both of these elements at high concentration might be responsible for the communication blocks in the area. This brings me back to my thought on life forms on and above having great interest in what’s lying beneath the surface.

Did UFOS stop meltdown? John J Johnson

Humans have used uranium for many purposes. The earliest documents date back to AD 79. Uranium has high explosive potential. The United states used uranium in the bomb that obliterated Hiroshima. Certain forms of uranium are used to make tank armor and bullets. Most of the natural resource is used for nuclear power. UFO experts claim that many sightings are focused at uranium mines around the world. The Karnes Mine sighting of 1971 contains the most detailed information. The workers at the mine stated that a UFO suddenly appeared one night. The stunned employees were incapacitated by the light and high pitch sounds coming from the saucer. After the encounter, the area where the uranium was stored was now void of the element. They claimed the brown uranium rock was left discolored. The suction area matched the shape and size of the invading craft. Do both aliens and humans need uranium for energy use?

The flip side to these theories would be that I have not found any writings stating that there’s uranium mining occurring in this location. Is this due to the high amounts of meteors that mysteriously land here each year posing a safety issue for humans? If uranium is not being mined here. Then why would UFOs be interested in the area? The locals say craft hover and zoom on. Is it possible that alien beings can sense high levels of uranium from the craft and are just scouting the area for easy targets? Perhaps other beings are not interested in invading. They just drop in for a fuel up as they move on to their intended vacation spot ha ha. Like Les Hewitt said in his article. Could the entire story just be a fun legend to draw in tourist to a financially suffering area? However, how do we explain the rogue US rocket?? Only time will tell..

Best Doctor Explanation of Covid Crisis

This interview with Dr. Jeff Barke from Orange County is the best I’ve seen. I like how doc mentions that our liberties are being threatened. That medical decisions should be left to local districts not Washington. Each state has individual circumstances. This virus is not a one size fit all scenario when it comes to decision making. I also have a better understanding of hydroxychloroquine and come to find out my brother in law has taken this drug for years for an auto immune condition. Hopefully this interview will not be banned..

Eye Candy Maturity

I’ve been married for sixteen years now. I think all couples can agree that after long amounts of time spent in a relationship, in the end people are not the same person they were in the beginning. Back when we were a young couple, the hubs and I loved to hit the party scene. We had our favorite go to bars and clubs that we frequented every weekend aka the Carlsbad crawl. We moved to California from a tiny farm town in Upstate NY. Upon arriving we found an infestation of hot beach bodies everywhere! It was literally like nothing we had ever seen.

Sitting shoulder to shoulder at the bar with ripped bodies and half naked girls frequently. There were definitely awkward moments when I’d see my man glancing at another female. We all go through this in a relationship both male and female. Its natural to see these perfect surgeon products and have to take an extra stare or two. However, I’d be insecure for days about that five second glance. Why was he looking at her? Should I hit the gym harder? Should I get my boobs done? What if he leaves me because I’m not as pretty as this dude magnet at the bar?? The insecurity went on and on.

We broke up in our twenties. The separation was the best thing for us looking back. Hubby asked me out at age 15 in computer typing class. We were inseparable for years. He raced motocross and we traveled all over. I enjoyed being his pit crew every weekend and he loved this new city girl who had moved to the country. She brought a fresh new perspective to his chill country life. By our mid twenties things got confusing as we had spent all of our young lives together, so we separated. Luckily, the time apart enabled us to learn about ourselves, other people and to mature.

What did we learn while being single ha ha.. That once you grow up in the country there’s only so much you can tolerate with city life! Priorities and entertainment are quite different. He found that bangin hot girl at the bar with the hair, nails, flawless makeup and expensive purse was a fucking hand full! Most of these women are used to getting what they want and act like princesses. The hubs said a few of the ladies he dated were so needy and wouldn’t lift a finger to help with anything. Everything had been done for them their whole lives. We both quickly figured out what we did not want to wake up next to for the rest of our lives. We got back together with new found appreciation.

Now twenty years later when we are out on the town or at the gym. The hubs and I will both point out super hotties to each other. Neither of us bat an eyelash about it. Instead of feeling insecure and jealous. Maturity has left us old perverts having fun with the situation! There are tons of gorgeous country gals but these Cali girls for sure take sexy to an astronomical level. The best part is when this old girl tells these young pretty ladies how hot they are and to enjoy their youth. I usually score a free glass of wine. Boom!
